OUTPATIENT CARDIAC REHABILITATION – DISCOVER LIFELONG CARDIAC HEALTH
Many individuals just like you who have been treated for a heart attack are making the transition from illness to wellness. They have taken that first step toward heart healthy living and initiated the healing process through involvement in a rehabilitation program designed just for patients with heart conditions. You can continue your cardiac healing and rehabilitation process close to home with the Upper Chesapeake Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation.

  • Only one of its kind in Harford County.
  • Provides a medically supervised exercise and education plan to help you successfully continue your recovery from a heart attack, bypass surgery or angioplasty after you leave the hospital.
  • The program is offered on an outpatient basis in a state-of-the-art fitness gym conveniently located in the Ambulatory Care Center of Harford County.
  • Our cardiac program also benefits individuals who may be at risk for developing heart disease, or who want to avoid open-heart surgery.
  • There are three core components to the Upper Chesapeake Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II program.

Exercise Training

  • Our specially trained cardiac rehabilitation nurses and exercise physiologists teach you how to exercise safely. They will work with you to develop an individualized plan to meet your unique needs following guidelines established by the American College of Sports Medicine.
  • Your individualized exercise plan will include conditioning and flexibility exercises as well as strength training.
  • The exercise program is geared to build both your aerobic capacity and your strength.
