CT Scan (CAT Scan)
CT is a kind of scan that uses radiation to produce pictures of a cross section of a body part.
- Our GE LightSpeed Computerized Tomography system uses advanced technology to rapidly image thin sections of the body.
- Scans can be completed in just a few minutes and uses very small amounts of radiation.
- Before the scan, the technologist will help you on the scanning table. The table will then slide into the interior of the scanner that is open at both ends. You will be asked to be very still, but will be able to communicate with the technologist the entire time of the procedure.
- Some CT procedures require special preparation (i.e. fasting for several hours before the procedure; drinking a special contrast material a few hours in advance), so pay special attention to any instructions given to you at the time your procedure is scheduled.
- CT is offered Monday-Saturday. Call ScheduleFirst for a convenient time.
